Tip-off

Frankie just came in the house in her swimsuit and sauntered toward the kitchen, singing softly to herself, "Hmmm hmm hm, lala, hmmm... and all I need is duck tape...."

I wish David tipped me off so beautifully to his terror plots. Ok, signing off the computer.

And the living's easy...

What's summer without breaking out the baby pool (Frankie wisely suggested we get an un-poppable version this year)...

...and some pictures from the garden. These roses actually smell as luscious as they look.

So please indulge me as I express how excited we are about our first successful pumpkin and tomato crops? Thanks Greenthumb Grandmommy for all those little plants with uncertain futures! We've finally found a side of the yard that likes vegetables. Here are just a few of our many future jack-o-lanterns, though these guys are looking like they'll be ready pre-Halloween... pumpkin pie and pumpkin butter, at least, are in order!

And of course another Rose post, sorry people. Pillow fight! Rose's first sleepover.

"So, first we'll paint our nails, then we'll make s'mores, then Daddy's going to read us bedtime stories...."

"Um, Mommy...you there? I can't move. Help?"

Rose Update

So she's a big, happy girl. Big.

Her new thing is turning from her back to this position. She arches her back, kicks those michelin man legs furiously, and I can tell she's trying to get somewhere, anywhere... possibly onto her tummy. Sometimes she's crying when she does it, which is pretty cute.

Looking a little unsure in big sister's care.

Ready with the camera, Mommy? Okay, watch me.
VOGUE.

Mommy...NOT happy with that last one.

Beach pictures to come shortly!

Roses and Rose's Baptism

So apparently we're having one of the best rose seasons in years. These are all from my garden. They're all huge, gorgeous and fragrant. What an honor for Rose's birth!

The baptism and after-party celebrating our little saint went beautifully.

She's wearing Godmother Aunt Hilary's rose-covered baby garment, appropriately. Rose's feet didn't really fit in the booties without her toes curling... Aunt Hilary must have been a bit more petite a baby! She's on the tall girl track, like her oldest sister. Happy baptism sweet Rose!

Camera happy

Sorry for the double post today, but a few cute pics I wanted to immortalize:

If this doesn't look like trouble, I don't know what does.

Dave's latest big idea. I'm predicting this will last 30 minutes (they just went down for bed).

And lastly, some seriously cute sleeping.

She can't reach her arms above her head. I love that about babies.

Good night!

Boots and babies

Soo, I'm interpreting this behavior as a subconscious cry for cowboy boots...
except that the girls' mary-janes have nothing cowboy about them, and I frequently find him in those too...

Now for some photo updates on Rose:

Still going strong in the Dave look-alike department!

Looks like she's slated to be his size, too...

"Don't mess with me, unless you're Mommy." Sporting the pointed curly-cue on top of her head like nobody's business.
